Love Chap.

'There was a love affair in this building...'

Apologies for the absence since sunday night - a combination of a game theory test and a lack of internet! Have lots of updates to fill up snappy space, which i'll post tonight...in the meantime, check out this siiick youtube video.

Regina Spektor singing 'Love Affair'
Such an awesome track, I love the simplicity of her innocent voice contrasted with an aggressive piano accompaniment. She's a real storyteller, and flippin cool. Like, seriously.

Grown Up Chap.

'A grownup is a child with layers on.'

Went snapping with a fellow Chap today, all the way down to Hout Bay Harbour. I guess more than anything, I'm a people watcher. Not the creepy, guy-in-long-trenchcoat-with-hands-in-the-pocket kind. The normal kind. The inquisitive kind. Anyhoo, there were so many people to watch this afternoon. In particular, I snapped this shot of a kid and his Dad. From this angle they look as if they're the same height.

Shows you how fast we grow up.

Who's Chap?

Opportunity does not knock, then knock again, then leave a note saying "sorry I missed you"

I've been trying to start a blog for forever, and its taken me until now - 2 years of carefully planned procrastination - to finally put pen to, well, internet screen. I don't really know what the purpose of it will be, but I figured that once I start, it'll hopefully turn into something. If not, i'll have to resort to plan B. And I don't know what that is either. Problem.

If I sound confused, its because I am.

Here's a few things I do know:

  1. I'm a 19-year old student from Edinburgh, in the land of Scots. Contrary to popular belief, this does not mean I'm blessed with a ginger tinge, or run around the moors in nothing but a kilt with a haggis under one arm. That's only on special occasions - Birthdays, Holidays, the occasional Sunday afternoon.
  2. At the moment I live in Cape Town, South Africa, studying politics, philosophy, and economics at the University of Cape Town. This degree is the ultimate in 'career procrastination'. I'm planning on making it last at least 10 more years, because I have no clue what I want to do after I'm finished.
  3. I devour music, movies, and photography - like a ravenous cultural beast.
That should give you a little taste.

Introduction Chap.

'This suit is for leisure. But many times I wear it to get down to business'

hello wonderful wild world of warped cyberspace.
i decided to become a blogger for 4 reasons:

  1. the world is full of interesting things.
  2. when i like interesting things i like to remember them.
  3. i'd like to show other people these interesting things.
  4. 'blog' rhymes with 'chilli dog', which are very tasty.
so, here goes.
i hope to snip anything, and snap everything.
