"Leave your pride down at your ankles"
This band is MINT. Pure, solid, the kinda after-dinner, sugar-coated, expensive fucking mints.
I bought their debut album yesterday. Oh my sack. If there was ever a time for me to say I missed home, listening to these tracks (which include a tribute song to my hometown "Two Bridge") made me nostalgic as shit! They've been dubbed as the "Scotland's Vampire Weekend", but I think that's selling them short. VP has an underlying electro feel to it, you can hear it in the bass in most of their songs. Bwani's sound is entirely varied - at times it's playful, at other times hard indie-rock, and there's always some afro-carribbean sounds crammed in there too.
These guys are gonna go far.
Makes me proud to be Scottish.

Rainy Day Jazz Chap.
After one of the hottest days of the year, Cape Town (the pregnant mother city) decided to chuck it down with rain and wind. But no fear, there was jazz to be watched at Lyra's! Such a sick jam yet again, check out the snaps...

Amy's Chaps.
Miss Amy Thornton had the greatest idea on Thursday - let's go to the beach!
Picture Clifton 4th. No clouds. No wind. No hyperactive school kids. The PERFECT day.
We took a little gander over the rocks and found the most interestingly-shaped rock...take a look at the snaps I snipped from the day!

Celebratory Chap.
Right that's it, back to daily posts.
Exams are over and there's 3 months of glorious summer holidays before me.
A bunch of friends and I took the train through to Kalk Bay to a restaurant called the Brass Bell.
Celebrations ensued - there was fun, friends, beer.....and a whole lotta BBQ ribs.
Check out the snaps I snipped from the afternoon...
